The correspondent of Ennahar sentenced to 6 months in prison

Rabah Lemouchi was sentenced to six (06) months in prison today. The correspondent of Tébessa was tried for defamation against an institution of the state.

The latter had qualified the police institution of an “empire”, which he had mentioned in a letter he had sent to the President of the Republic on 10 January 2006, i.e. three years ago, in addition to a request sent to the responsible for Human Resources and another request to the head of the communication cell of the departmental direction. Accusations that Rabah Lemouchi reiterated to the judge and which were in no case of defamation but rather the assertion of the right to access to information like other correspondents, and in his capacity as correspondent of the daily “Ennahar”.
