Forest fires ravage 2321 Hectares since early July
Algiers- The heat wave that has plagued the last few days on the North and inside the country "will continue until the end of the week", said Saturday the National Meteorology Office (NMO ).
- The weather generally warm and clear will mark the regions of the country during the rest of the week with high temperatures and peaks up to 45 degrees on Sunday and 47 degrees for the rest of the week, in some departments adds the same source.
- For Sunday, the weather will remain hot in the north of the country especially inside the country with clear skies.
However, a stormy trend will be probably recorded in the late afternoon the Interior and Highlands with the development of some isolated cells, adds the same source.
Between 36 and 42° are expected in the interior regions, 45° in Ghelizane, Mascara, Chlef, Blida, Bouira, Bousaâda, Tizi Ouzou and Guelma.
In the southern regions of the country, the temperature will be between 40 and 44° C, reaching 47° C in Adrar and Ain Salah, while The Hoggar and the Tassili will record temperatures between 33 to 36°.
On the coast regions, temperatures range between 33 and 45° C in Annaba, Skikda and Bejaia, 34 expected in Algiers.
Forest fires ravaging 2321 Hectares
According to the services of civil protection, there were three hundred and five forest fires that have ravaged 2321 hectares throughout the country since the beginning of July. The same source adds that no victim or property damage have been deplored.
According to the review of civil protection, 1542 hectares of forest were destroyed by 152 fires recorded in the same period, 1220 forest fires ravaged 3750 H of wheat. These fires were recorded throughout the country have destroyed 4100 H of barley and 97,000 of fruit trees and 4150 of palms trees.
During the period between July 22 and 24, 76 fire outbreaks were recorded in three wilayas, Tizi Ouzou, Bejaia and Tipaza, destroying 909 hectares.
