Ramadan: 3 billion Dinars for deprived families
Algiers- Minister of National Solidarity, Family and National Community Abroad Djamel Ould Abbes announced Monday that the State has devoted more than DZD 2,923,000,000 to destitute families during the holy, fasting month of Ramadan.
- The money will be allocated to more than 1,200,000 needy families, in addition to 1,775,000 coffins and 6,300,000 meals to be distributed during the holy month, which will see the opening of some 600 restaurants of Rahma (mercy), Ould Abbes told a news conference held at his ministry's building.
- The initiative, started by the ministry ten years ago, is part of the President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika's instruction aiming at assisting impoverished families during the holy month, Ould Abbes added.
