22 Harraga, including a 70 years old man, arrested in eastern Algeria,

ALGIERS- Twenty-two Harraga (candidates for illegal immigration) including old people were intercepted Wednesday off Annaba in the far east of Algeria, said the Coast Guard.

•     These illegal immigrants, aged between 20 and 70, tried to reach the Italian coast from a beach in Annaba departed at 11.00 pm Tuesday on board a motor boat which was intercepted a few hours later , stated the Coast Guard of Annaba cited by the press agency APS.
  
      These have intercepted more than 300 candidates for illegal emigration since 1 January, reported the same sources.
  
      During one of the last interception, a man of 32 with 23 people trying to cross the Mediterranean in early August died.
  
      Their boat had deliberately struck that of the coast guard, throwing several Harraga into the sea among them the victim, according to official sources.
