Algiers- "Bab El Hara'', The Devil's Gardens", "My heart is my guide, "Biyouna in Zorro," "The second door," "The War of Spies," "The wounds of life": a series filmed inside ‘Serkadji prison.’ Here are some best artworks which will accompany our dishes of Ramadan this year.

  • Salim El Fehama to Ennahar: "I put all my hopes in the show "Zitna Fi Bitna" on the radio channel El Bahdja.

Salim Mdjahed, the comic artist known for his role in the show "El Fehama" with Sally and the special joke teller with his own way (à la tlémcènienne), will present a weekly show on the radio station “El Bahdja” entitled "Zitna Fi Bitna, wa Marhaba bik ya Ramadan ki djitna” "(our oil in our house, and welcome to you Ramadan). The show lasts two hours on Saturday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

The show's funny, but still treats some unsociable behaviour of Algerians in a subtle and humorous way. Listeners can participate and be interviewed by Salim.

Biyouna in "Zorro" on Nesma TV during this Ramadan

Biyouna, the famous Algerian artist returns to the delight of her fans across the channel "Nesma TV" in a comic series with several North African artistes. The series, "Zorro" will be aired during the holy month of Ramadan. Each part deals with a subject such as unemployment, poverty, globalization, economic crisis and football, with humour and derision.

    "My heart is my guide"

Arab works (dramas) that deal mainly with autobiographical works, stories of famous personalities, meet a great enthusiasm among the Arab public, which has encouraged producers and directors to open in this direction and to produce more each year and sets movies.

This year, fans of Arab "Drama" will be spoiled with the series "My heart is my guide" which tells the life of the deceased star Leila Mourad who left an indelible trace in the world of Arabic song.

Leila Mourad was born in 1918 of a Jewish father, Zaki Mourad, who emigrated with his family from Morocco to Egypt. Zaki was a singer; he travelled to America to organize concerts, leaving his family destitute. In this situation, Leila was forced to work to support the urgent needs of her family, leaving school. Upon his return, Zaki discovers that his daughter Leila had a nice voice. He then takes her to Abdelwahab who was captivated by her beautiful voice and puts her on stage. She made a great success although she was only fourteen.

Her father then took her, during five years, in different parts of the country to sing at parties. Leila becomes a star in Egypt and had a very large audience.

In 1948, after the birth of the Israeli state, some wealthy Egyptian attempt to convince her to travel to Israel (the Promised Land), as she was of Jewish origin, in order to encourage the departure of Egyptian Jews to Israel. But Leila refuses violently and means she was born in Egypt. She was then the subject of ridiculous rumours spread by her former husband Anwar Ouadjdi, that Leila was Jewish and had donated £ 50,000 to the Israeli army. The rumour was a real bomb in the public. The result is known; Leila leaves the singing and cinema to live far from the lights. She dedicated to her family and her husband Fettine Abdelwahab.
