Swine flu: Four new cases detected in Algeria
Algiers- Four new swine influenza (A/H1N1) cases were confirmed on Friday by reference laboratory services of the Pasteur Institute of Algiers (IPA), a source from the ministry of Health, Population and Hospital Reform has said.
- The victims are a 29-year old man, a 28-year old woman and a 15-year old girl, all of whom had been in Spain, in addition to a lady aged 60 that had been in Saudi Arabia.
- The affected people, living in Algiers, are "currently hospitalized in a capital's reference department and are responding favourably to medical treatment, the communiqué underlined.
- "The total number of confirmed (swine flu) cases recorded in Algeria until 21 August 2009 has reached 33, none of them is severe and no death has been reported," the ministry reassured.
