Sonatrach makes a net profit of 594 billion Dinars

Algiers- The national hydrocarbons company Sonatrach has made for 2008 a net profit estimated at 594.27 billion Dinars, and increased investments worth 598 billion Dinars.

• The exports of this important company have reached 76.9 billion dollars. For 2008, Sonatrach has indicated in its financial statement released Saturday on the website that net profits had declined by 8% compared with the previous year (2007) where it achieved 643 billion Dinars net benefits.
  
  Regarding exports, Sonatrach has registered an increase up to 76.9 billion dollars in 2008 against $ 59.5 billion for 2007.
  
  In this context, Sonatrach's report says efforts for investments during 2008 were more important and this, thanks to investments in the order of 598 billion against 451 billion Dinars in 2007, i.e. an increase of 32%. Furthermore, all the company's products rose to 21% in 2008 compared to the previous year, i.e. an increase of 1,007 billion AD.
  
  The share of partners increased from $ 3.9 billion in 2007 to $ 4.8 billion in 2008, thanks to the importance of the turnover made by the company.
  
  The tax on windfall profits made by partners, filed into the public treasury, reached 2.6 billion dollars. The rising price of crude that reached 99.2 dollars per barrel in 2008 against 74.7 dollars in 2007 enabled the coverage of lower quantities sold (0.3%).
