124 billion Dinars for the security of public companies in 2009

Algiers- The public and private companies spend huge fortunes for the security of their sites and seats ; directions and regional headquarters. According to official figures, these companies publish national tender for the purpose of acquiring insurance policies.
- The amount paid by the public companies exceeds the figure of 124 billion Dinars for the current year. These sums are destined for numerous security companies, some of which work with foreign security companies, who take profit from funds transfer to European countries and countries of origin of the latter without allowing the public treasury realize benefits.
In this context, recent statistics show that the number of private security companies in Algeria has reached 52 companies for the purpose of conducting par security activities under the permanent control of the police, gendarmerie and the department for research and Security.
These companies have emerged in Algeria after the wave of violence that has unleashed in the country during the nineties, when authorities were forced to give their consent for their creation, particularly because of obvious lack in human resources. Despite this fact, 38 security companies have been dissolved for failure to comply with laws relating to the security of funds and sensitive products and their transportation, law of December 4, 1993.
Among the companies that benefited from the services of security companies, the national oil company "Sonatrach", which launched a tender on 22 February on its electronic website relating to markets. The contract was won by the "Insurance Company 2000" which has pocketed more than $ 34 billion centimes to ensure the wells section.
Furthermore, the results of bidding for this year, of which Ennahar owns a copy on the security companies, the minimum amount paid by national companies for the security of their sites are beyond the billion centimes.
The national office of land management, for example, has spent more than two billions for the security of two residential sites, properties of the Office. Management for University of Setif has disbursed 417 million centimes for the security of the campus, "El Bez 2. As for the garden of El Hamma, the wilaya of Algiers has spent $ 4 billion cents for its total security.
In this context, the Interior Ministry had previously forwarded a memo to managers of these companies so that they avoid working with foreign security companies after discovering that many of them work with these latter.
For their part, the services of the department have threatened to resort to harsh reprisals against violators of this circular, especially after noting that this has become a major threat to internal security of the country, according to the contents of the Circular from the Ministry.
