Five women and seventeen children repatriated from Ghaza
Five Algerian women and their seventeen children arrived in Algiers Friday evening after being evacuated from Ghaza via the Rafah terminal in Egypt, said the APS agency.
- Some of these women, who have called « miracle » their arrival in Algeria, reported that their husbands had been prevented from crossing the border at Rafah.
« There are dozens of deaths a day » in Ghaza. « The bombing has not stopped. It is unimaginable, » said one of them, according to the same source.
The husband of Aïcha Hamlaoui, a Palestinian policeman was killed on the first day of the Israeli offensice. A native of Batna in eastern Algeria, she is the mother of six children.
A dozen other Algerian families are still stranded at Ghaza, according to Minister of National Solidarity, Family and national Community abroad, Djamel Ould Abbes, who welcomed the refugees.
It concerns mainly the members of families after marriage between Palestinians and Algerians living in Algeria before, he said Thursday.
Since the beginning of the Israeli offensive against Ghaza, at least 1200 Palestinians were killed, including 410 children and 100 women, and more than 5285 wounded, according to emergency services in Gaza.
