PARIS - life imprisonment, with a minimum sentence of 22 years, was required Monday against Rachid Ramda, considered on appeal by the Special Court of Assizes of Paris for complicity in three attacks in the French capital 1995.

  •     On October 26, 2007, Rachid Ramda, 40, was sentenced to life imprisonment together with a minimum sentence of 22 years, according to the requisitions of the attorney general who had requested the maximum sentence. He appealed the verdict.

Before the Appellate Court, the one who is accused of financing attacks on behalf of the Armed Islamic Group (GIA) of Algeria has continued to proclaim his innocence.

Rachid Ramda is tried for complicity in murder and attempted murder for the fatal attack of July 25, 1995 at the Saint-Michel metro station (8 dead, 150 injured), and two other attacks in October of that year at the Stations Maison-blanche and Orsay Museum, leaving dozens injured.
