Major reshuffle within the civil protection

Algiers- General Directorate of Civil Protection is to conduct a large-scale reshuffle, the first of its kind since 2006, which has affected 24 provinces of the country.

• Directors who have exceeded five years of service in their posts have been transferred to other provinces, and changes were made at four central posts. Infrastructure Director has been appointed after the position remained vacant for years. Other proposals relating to eight high central and local offices are being studied at the Ministry of Interior.
  
  The Director of Information and Statistics at the General Directorate of Civil Protection, Medjkane Amokrane, outlined the contents of the motion of reorganization that took place at senior management level of the civil protection, to be published shortly in the Official Newspaper, in an interview yesterday with Ennahar, declared that the new reshuffle relating to directors who have exceeded five years in service.
  
  These are senior officers with the rank of captain, major and colonel. According to Mr Medjkane, it has been preceded in the change of the directors of civil protection of the following provinces: Chlef, Guelma, Constantine Medea, Mostaganem, Mascara, Oran, El Bayedh, Illizi, Bordj Bouarreridj, Tarf, El Oued, Khenchla, Ain Defla and Ghardaia.

• The reshuffle comes after approving proposals submitted by the Directorate General of Civil Protection to the Department of the Interior which transferred the files to the Office of the President of the Republic and the Government.
  
  Directors of the East have been transferred to the west and south and those of the west or south to the east in order to promote the services and performance on the field.
  
  According to the director of information and statistics, the relocation was more important, the director of civil protection in the province of Chlef was transferred to El Bayedh, and the director of El Bayedh was appointed Sector Operations Director at the General Directorate of Civil Protection. The latter was transferred to the post of director of the province of Tlemcen, while the director of the province of Tlemcen was transferred to El Oued.
   
  The director of the province of civil protection of El Oued in the same position in Illizi, while the Director of Illizi was appointed to the same post in Chlef and the director of Chlef in El Bayedh in same position.
  
  According the same source, the director of Oum El Bouaghi was appointed to a similar post in Khenchla while it was terminated the functions of directors of civil protection in Khenchla, Batna, Tizi Ouzou. The office of the province of Laghouat remains vacant after the transfer of its director in a same position in Batna.
  
  The director of civil protection in the provine of Bechar has been nominated in the same position in Tébessa, while his successor has been named in Bordj Bouarreridj. The director of of Bordj Bouarreridj has meanwhile been transferred in Tizi Ouzou. The director of the of Saida was transferred to the same position in the province of Ghardaia and the director of the latter was transferred to the province of Medea.
  
  The director of civil protection in the province of Medea was transferred to Tarf, while the former director was transferred in the province of Ain Defla. That of Ain Defla in the province of Mostaganem and the director of Mostaganem was transferred to Constantine. The director of civil protection of Constantine has been appointed in the post in Guelma and the director of Guelma in Oum El Bouaghi.
  
  Moreover, the director of civil protection of Annaba has been transferred in the province of Oran and that of Sidi Belabbes in the province of Mascara. The director of Mascara in the province of Bechar and the director of civil protection of Ghelizane in the province of Sidi Belabbes.
  
  This movement also involves four central posts. It has been proceeded to the nomination of the Director responsible for managing at the post of director of facilities and supplies at the General Directorate of Civil Protection, which was vacant until then. The director of emergency medical sector has been transferred to the post of Area Director of social activities, while the director of studies has been appointed at the post of Central Inspector.
  
  According to Mr Medjkane, the central region was not affected by the reshuffle due to some vital projects that should be followed by their initial directors, adding that the seniority, experience and evaluation have been taken into account in these movements.
