Abu Zakaria preferred terrorism to collaboration with Moroccan security services
Algiers- The Moroccan “B. Yacine” denied the day before yesterday the fact that he concluded an agreement with the security of his country which consists of spying on Islamists in the mosques of Marrakech.
- According to preliminary investigations, the latter would have concluded an agreement with the Moroccan security services to collaborate with them against his release. He was the eye of the security services who watches the meetings of Salafi groups and their relationships with other terrorist organizations in the Maghreb.
The defendant, along with two of his countrymen, came to Algeria on recommendation of the brother in law of "B. Yacine" who had joined the group of Droukdal in 2005, and whose picture appeared in a recorded program on Al Jazeera TV channel in late 2007. The three, according to initial reports, wanted to join the fief of El Qaeda, then resistance in Iraq.
The defendant nicknamed "Abu Zakaria,” who collaborated with the Moroccan security services, was arrested along with his two compatriots in a café in Maghnia while they awaited the arrival of the guide who would take them to the terrorist groups in the centre.
The defendants have denied the charges and claimed to have come to Algeria in order to trade in clothing. “B. Yacine” entered Algeria at the request of his step brother Abdelkader who activates within terrorist groups in Algeria. The latter had asked him the recruitment of Moroccans who desire to make jihad in Algeria. He had given the phone number of a smuggler on the borders between Algeria and Morocco.
The latter would then go in the region of Maghnia where he was about to be led to the terrorists in the central region. The respondent attempted to deny all charges while "B. Yacine" denied any relationship with the elements of the terrorist organization, Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat, and any relationship with the Moroccan security services.
