CAIRO - the Egyptian press on Tuesday castigate the Algerian press, accused of "beating the drums of war" on the eve of the crucial match Egypt - Algeria for the World Cup 2010 qualification.

  •    Nahed Masr (independent) title: "The Algerian press beat the drums of war against the Egyptians," and resumed the headlines of the Algerian press on Monday "of Algerian dead in Egypt, information denied by the Algerian authorities themselves.

Al-Wafd (opposition) also regrets that "the press publishes false information about the killings of Algerians and sexual assault against Algerian women in Cairo, after a match between the two countries Saturday evening in the Egyptian capital.

Al-Chourouq (independent) raised "unprecedented attack from the Algerian press against Egypt, while for al-Dustour (Independent) attacks against the Egyptians in Algeria show that the Egyptian-Algerian relations are going through a serious crisis."

The government press, however, adopted a more moderate tone. Thus al-Ahram wrote in an editorial that "in spite of the biased incentives campaigns (in the Algerian press), we must put this game in its proper context, instead of hysteria, and preserve the historical relations between the two fraternal peoples."

The Egyptian press also widely reported the measures taken by authorities to encourage supporters of the national team, the "Pharaohs".

According to the government daily al-Akhbar, the secretary general of the National Democratic Party (NDP) in power, Safwat al-Sharif and its Secretary-General Gamal Mubarak, son of President Hosni Mubarak reviewed "the plan to support the national team" and organization of flights to transport Egyptian supporters to Sudan.

According to the paper it was agreed to make available 50,000 t-shirts and 50,000 flags to Egyptian fans.

I'am dreaming here, the egyptians team were met in algiers with flowers while our team were met by stones.not one single egyptian was injured in algiers.FACTS.it is extremely criticale that FIFA did n't take a radicale decision to cancel the game in cairo after the appalling treatment algerian supporters and their team received.WE ARE WAITING THAT THE EGYPTIAN'S AUTORITY ANSWER THEIR APPALLING LACK OF SECURITY AND....NOW THEY ARE ASKING THE ALGERIAN AUTORITIES TO DO THEIR BEST FOR THE SECURITY OF THEIR HOOLIGANS.WHAT A CHEEK!!IF THE FRENCH,ENGLISH,GERMAN..TEAM WAS ATTACKED IN CAIRO,FIFA WOULD HAD CANCELLED THE GAME AND DISQUALIFIED EGYPT.FACTS.
