Swine flu: twenty three new cases confirmed in Algeria
ALGIERS– Twenty three new cases of swine flu (A/H1N1) have been confirmed on Tuesday, bringing to 157 the total number of cases reported so far, the Ministry of Health, Population and Reform Hospital announced in a release.
- The disease was diagnosed on eight people in Constantine (431 km east of Algiers): a 33-year old man recently back from France, a 26-year old woman in contact with a previously confirmed case, a 30-year old woman, two girls aged 9 and 10, and three boys aged 13, 17 and 19, said the source.
- Another case was detected in Djelfa (300 km south of Algiers) on a 37 year old man in contact with a parent residing abroad, and five cases have been reported in the capital Algiers on a 32 year old woman recently back from France, a 24 year old woman, a 7 year old girl, a 16 months old baby all recently back from England, and a foreign national aged 70 who recently arrived in Algeria.
