They falsify her certificate to get her pension

Algiers- A policeman and two officials of the Municipality of Belouizdad involved in falsifying the certificate of life of a widow of Shahid (the policeman’s mother), to get her pension of widow of martyr during twelve years, since her death.

• The two officials were issuing false certificates of life of the deceased woman for the renewal of the file. The officer tried to cover up the crime by paying bribes. The sum extorted since 1995is estimated at about 100 million centimes.
  
  Investigations led by security services around the case have exposed the mismanagement and diversion of pensions to widows of Shahid with the complicity of corrupt officials in public institutions. The case was brought before a court in Algiers yesterday, involving also the son of the late widow of Shahid, the police officer and two officials of the Municipality of Belouizdad.
  
  After investigation, it appears that the life certificate of the deceased widow of Shahid was issued by the civil status at the municipality of Belouizdad, while the family resides in Mostaganem. Furthermore, a second service weapon was found on the officer pursued in this case.
