The Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat pepares a new video showing the terrorist Mebarek Yazid, aka Abu Obeida Youcef, one of the leaders of the terrorist organization.
- According to the statement by the Salafist group, published yesterday on a website, the new video contains a speech to the peoples and leaders of the Sahel and Sahara regions, without giving more details on this speech by the terrorist leader "Abu Obeida Youcef.
The terrorist organization is trying, through this video, to win sympathy in the Sahel regions, such as Mauritania, Mali and Niger, and attract new recruits among young people after failing to recruit in Algeria because of strengthening security around groups and dismantling of terrorist support networks to the Salafist Group.
This new video comes about five months after the injury of the terrorist Abu Obeida, also known as «El-Annabi», an important leader of the Salafist group, in an ambush of the army in Bouzguen (Province of Tizi Ouzou) where three terrorists were killed.
The Salafist group is seeking by every means to win the sympathy of the young people he wants to recruit elsewhere. Furthermore, the emir Abu Obeida, on the video, speaks on behalf of the Salafi leaders and addresses peoples and leaders of the Sahel countries, a role that belongs to the national emir of Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat, Abdelmalek Droukdal, alias "Abu Mosaab Abdelouadoud" in accordance with the Charter of the terrorist organization that defines the prerogatives of Abu Obeida, in his capacity as Chairman of the Board of Elders, whose role is only to monitor the Emir of the Salafist group.
The appearance of the President of Council of Elders and the demise of the Emir of the Salafist Group since 2008, confirms reports that Droukdal is isolated from the leadership because of his inability to lead the terrorist organization.
Noting that Abu Obeida Youcef el-Annabi, who chairs the council of elders within the GSPC, was a leading opponent of the ideology of Droukdal, and since the declaration by Droukdal his allegiance to Osama bin Laden, the role the board has been reduced and Abu Obeida marginalized, which gave rise to the conflict between him and the national emir.
