Mauritanian Minister of Foreign Affairs in Algiers
Algiers- Mauritanian Minister of foreign Affairs, Naha Mint Hamdi Ould Mouknass was received Monday by her counterpart, Mourad Medelci in Algiers, where she will take part Tuesday in a meeting of six countries on security in the subregion
- The meeting "comes on the eve of the enlarged meeting of our colleagues from countries of the Sahel" and "allows us to examine issues related to security in the region, development and intensification of cooperation" between the two countries, Medelci said, quoted by APS.
The Mauritanian minister, arrived in the morning in Algiers and who should submit a message from President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz to his counterpart Abdelaziz Bouteflika, said the visit "marks the prelude to a qualitative leap in relations between the two countries".
Algeria will host Tuesday a ministerial meeting of coordination between countries of the Sahel-Saharan region on "the resurgence of acts of terrorism" but also their "connections with transnational organized crime and trafficking of all kinds," said Saturday the Algerian department of Foreign Affairs.
The heads of diplomacy of Burkina Faso, Libya, Mali, Mauritania, Niger and Chad will be present. -
