The Egyptian duo Khaled El Ghandour and Ayman Abu Aid have criticized the president of the Egyptian Football Federation (FEF), Samir Zaher, after of the crisis that exploded following the football matches between Egypt and Algeria during the qualifying phase for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

  • The presenter of the television program, who became known for his scornful attacks against Algeria and his insults against all what is Algerian, said in an interview on the TV Channel "Dream" that the Egyptian football federation and particularly its president Samir Zaher, "have fooled us for months about the crisis that arose after the match Egypt Algeria in Cairo.
  • After having completely denied the fact that the Algerian team bus was trashed by Egyptian fans, and after having accused the Algerians have put together a scenario, and refused to apologize. Over time, it appears that the bus had been attacked by the Egyptians. Abu Aid said « it is quite clear that the crisis can solved if present an apology to Algeria after the incidents of Cairo and also that the Algerian side  presents an apology for what had happened in Khartoum. »
For his part, El Ghandour attacked Samir Zaher, saying « when I invited Captain Samir Zaher to my show, he confirmed that the Egyptian football federation (FEF) had prepared a strong case on the events of Sudan, but with time, I realized that Zaher lied and lied to the Egyptian people. There is no case to present to the FIFA. »
These admissions confirm that the President of the Egyptian football federation and the highest authorities of the country have mocked the Egyptian people by running rumors about the attacks against the Egyptian supporters in Sudan to hide the failure of their selection which failed reach the World Cup.
What is sure is that people in FIFA should laugh at seeing the file of Zaher and his acolytes.
