A Mauritania terrorist enters Algeria, posing as a madman
The Mauritanian national “Abou Mohamed the Mauritanian”, accused of belonging to terrorist groups was presented yesterday before the criminal court of Algiers.
- The latter activated in several phalanges and saryates of the terrorist organization Al Qaeda in Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), led by Abdelmalek Droukdal, and was part of “Katibet el mout” (phalanx of death) and Katibet Tarik ibn Ziyad.
“Abu Mohamed the Mauritanian” joined the terrorist groups in 2007 helped by Abu Zahra, who had made him an appointment in Timbuktu in Mali to put him in contact with terrorists in the Algerian Sahara. Abu Mohamed had left Mauritania in 2007 to Mali where he found the two terrorists Abu Zahra and Khattab, who were responsible for receiving new recruits.
The mission of the two terrorists was to bring young recruits to the armed fiefdoms. The defendant was accompanied by other young people on the day of the appointment; they were taken to North Africa where they remained for approximately six months wthin Katibet Tarik ibn Ziyad. In 2008, he travelled to Algeria with 25 other new recruits on board 3 Toyota all-terrain vehicles.
In Ouargla, the convoy was attack by National People's Army helicopters and was forced to hide in caves until the end of the bombing. They then continued their way to Batna.
Upon their arrival they were greeted by the terrorist Abul Walid and 14 other terrorists, all armed. Abu Mohammed then joined Katibet el Mout, led by the terrorist Nissar, where he was responsible for bringing supplies from the neighboring regions.
As he was unknown in the region, he posed as a madman, but thanks to their experience and flair, the elements of security forces have managed to suspect then arrest him. The latter acknowledged all the facts. -
