One dead and one missing in Annaba among 24 Harraga

A candidate for illegal emigration has been found drowned, another was missing and 22 were arrested while attempting to cross the Mediterranean from Annaba, in the far east of Algeria, said the civil protection Sunday.
- The boat in which they were traveling was stopped early in the night, shortly after leaving the coast, according to the civil protection cited by APS.
- The circumstances of the arrest of the boat, the drowning of one passenger and the disappearance of another has not been specified.
- The body of a 30 year old man was rescued, while his companions were headed to the hospital in Annaba, the source said.
- The region of Annaba is the usual starting point for Harraga (candidates for illegal emigration) to Italy.
