Fortnightly payment of salaries of contractual teachers

Algiers- in a statement provided to the Directors of wilaya of Education, Minister of National Education, Boubekeur Benbouzid, requires them to make the payment of salaries of contract teachers every two months instead of annually. Are also concerned with this measure, the substitute teachers as well as teachers working in the literacy program.

  • The head of the ministry of education has,  during the working days at the national conference on the preparation of the school year 2010/2011, held at the Ministry of Education, sent a statement to the directors of Education, asking them to proceed to bimonthly payment of contractual teacher salaries instead of every year as it is force until now. The substitute teachers and teachers in the literacy program, are also affected by these new measures relating to wages.
  • Furthermore, and according to the instructions of the Ministry of Education, of which Ennahar holds a copy, a program was developed to fight against absenteeism of students, teachers and administrative staff.
  • Tuition at the beginning of the year
  • Regarding provinces which registered weaknesses in their teaching performance, in comparison to other provinces, a device support will be followed and implemented with the participation of local authorities and students’ parents. These will be assessed at the beginning of the year and tuition will be provided for particular classes of examinations.
  • PINs will be distributed to parents so they can monitor the results of their children via the Internet. The Ministry of National Education wants to widespread the use of computers in three years and a budget of 80 billion has been allocated to this operation.
