Ouled Abbes dismissed the Secretary General of the Ministry

Health Minister Djamel Ould Abbes terminated the functions of the Secretary General of the Ministry of Health, Abdeslam Chakou, as part of a reshuffle undertaken in the sector, we learnt from official sources.
- According to the same sources, this decision comes as part of a series of changes undertaken by the department, on instructions of the President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika at the listening sessions. This would have given the green light to his Minister of Health to undertake the necessary changes at his ministry.
In this sense, the Secretary General of Ministry of Health was dismissed from his post. According to reliable sources, he will be replaced by Bouchenak el Khaldi.
This decision is the first in a series of measures that affect a large number of officials at the ministry.
Minister of health Ould Abbes had taken strict decisions in order to restructure the sector. Warnings were sent to all hospital managers who refused to cooperate with the department.
Decisions of dismissal have been taken against those who refused to cooperate with the ministry where 15 managers of a university hospital and over 20 health directors have been affected by these measures for refusing to send detailed reports on appliances and equipment purchased, in addition to the situation of housing belonging to the sector.
The Minister has started the past two months, to make surprise visits to various hospitals, clinics and health centers to ascertain their conditions and to their smooth running.
