ALGIERS- The world conference against war and exploitation opened in a context where Algeria has returned to civil peace, through a national resistance on all fronts, said Saturday in Algiers, Secretary General of the Labor Party (PT), Louisa Hanoun.

  • The SG of the PT who was speaking at the opening of the 8th World Conference against war and exploitation, organized in Algiers by the International Liaison Committee of Workers and Peoples, focused on the national context in which this conference takes place, stating that "Algeria has returned to civil peace, through a national resistance in all areas in which the General Union of Algerian Workers (UGTA) had played a key role for the preservation of the unity of workers. It is in this context that she recalled that Algeria was among those countries which were experiencing a serious crisis, following the Gulf War crisis, noting that "it came back to life at a cost of tens of thousands dead and more than 20 billion dollars in material losses.
