Although the meeting of Qatar Prime Minister with President Bouteflika was scheduled for weeks, the President has surprised many, particularly among those have reported these rumours about his health state, which according to them, deteriorated . Some related in small details that the president was in Switzerland for treatment, others said he was evacuated to France, when he appeared in top form and put an end to all the gossip and unfounded rumours.
The meeting at the residence of Djenan El Mufti, in the capital was an opportunity for the president to deny the rumours spread in the press and on the social networking site Facebook. Algerians saw on television yesterday President Bouteflika smiling while receiving the Qatari Prime Minister, he even took the time to discuss with the Minister of Qatar and welcomed the journalists he described as moudjahids (fighters).
Sheikh Hamed bin Jassem, visited Algiers at the head of a large delegation on invitation of Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia. His visit comes within the framework of the ongoing dialogue between the two countries.
- The visit of the Prime Minister of Qatar is the first after the crisis following the suspension by Qatar of visas to Algerians. Algeria had asked Qatar for explanations.
