- Al Qaeda mother, who already has strong links with groups like AQIM in the Sahel and extremist groups in Somalia and Nigeria, could turn to Africa to strengthen its forces.
- Even Al Qaeda in Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) and extremist groups such as Shebab in Somalia and Boko Haram in Nigeria, represent a great danger to the country of the continent. Experts fear that all these groups unite together, which would constitute a threat to security in the entire world
- Arms trafficking in countries of the Sahel, especially after the fall of Gaddafi is a sign of danger that hangs over the region. According to HRW, tons of weapons and ammunition, looted in the deposits in Libya, are dispersed in the desert without control.
