Belawar creates a new movement funded by Morocco and France
Algiers- According to reliable security sources, citing confessions of terrorists recently presented in court, foreign parties would be involved in supporting terrorist groups.
- According to the same sources, Mokhtar Belmokhtar, alias Belawar, terrorist leader of the Salafist Group in the Sahara, is behind the idea of creating a new separatist movement whose mission is to commit terrorist attacks against official targets and foreign interests in the South.
- According to the confessions of those arrested in the case of "Southern Children's Movement for justice," Belawar would be the true founder of this movement and one of his aides, Mohamed Lamine Boucheneb, known as Tahar was appointed president of the movement.
- A man named "Nemr", native of Ruwaysat in Ouargla, a fugitive from justice in cases of forgery and uttering forged documents had joined the group of Belawar at Khelil desert in Mali in early 2010 through a repentant terrorist named Abderrahmane.
- Nemr also acknowledged that terrorist Boucheneb, close to Belawar, would have told him that the movement of children in the south would have received financing proposals from Morocco, France and Libya, without explaining about the later whether the proposal came from Qaddafi or Libyan NTC fighters.
- According to Nemr, Belawar refused, at a meeting to map out goals and terrorist operations, any attacks against foreign interests or kidnapping of foreign nationals. He would have stressed the need to work to gain the sympathy of Western countries and international opinion for this new movement.
- Other confessions involve a significant amount of products used in the manufacture of explosives that have been introduced in Algeria from Mali. These products were hidden into the sand in the desert.
- The confessions of all persons arrested and brought before justice show the new strategy of terrorist groups in the Sahel who try to create an organization of a political nature with legitimate claims but who have the same objectives that the Salafist Group has failed to achieve through killing.
