National People's Congress votes draft law on political parties
Algiers - Members of the National People's Congress (NPC), began voting Tuesday article by article the organic draft law on political parties at a plenary session chaired by the president of the NPC, Abdelaziz Ziari.

The session is attended by the Minister of Interior and Local Government, Daho Ould Kablia. -
A hundred and sixty five (165) proposed amendments have been made by the members to this bill including 89 articles defined under seven titles relating to political parties, the conditions and manner of their creation and their organization and functioning. - The text intends to reshape the nature of the relationships between government departments and political parties in a "balanced and harmonious" based on respect for the law.
It defines the roles of each other, opening the remedies under the same conditions to "assert their respective rights," assures the "free creation of a political party under the law" and the "free expression and exercise of its activities and ideas," provided that such freedom "is not be diverted to restore a dissolved party."
