130-year-old woman votes

Rokkeya, a very old woman whose family says is 130 years old, has carried out her electoral duty on Thursday.

• All those present at the polling station of "Kacem Ourida," in the locality of Tadjenanet (Mila province, 400-km east of Algiers), were astonished, slightly amused and even moved when the very old woman in a wheelchair entered the polling station accompanied with many of her descendants, to "serve her country," she said in a quavering voice.
