Violence in Algeria during the month of Ramadhan

Algiers- Ramadhan, the month of piety, devotion and good deeds during which Muslims should try to redeem themselves by getting closer to God through fasting, prayer and good actions of kindness and generosity. This is the image that we have always known of Algeria, like other Muslim countries during this holy month.
- Unfortunately, this image has been tarnished in recent years by the phenomenon of violence and heinous crimes committed during the month of forgiveness. A strange situation and behaviors that have no connection with our religion, our traditions and our customs. We could not imagine stealing and slander during Ramadan once. Today, these are the most heinous crimes being committed. Is this the spiritual void that is the cause? Or is it due to the disintegration of the family unit? Or the economic and social problems and difficult conditions faced by people today?
- He stabbed his sister and her boyfriend in front of the mosque in Chlef
- A young man aged about thirty stabbed his sister aged 20 in the back near the mosque in the municipality of El Kerima in Chlef, before stabbing her boyfriend up to the heart.
- According to informed sources, the criminal would have discovered that his sister was dating a young man.
- Another kills his friend for money
- In the same city, the so-called "Z. A." 29 died in a cafe after receiving a stab wound in the chest. According to witnesses, the causes of the crime would be a money problem between the two men.
- A jeweler killed in his shop in Bechar
- The town of Bechar recorded two crimes in one week, during this Ramadhan. These two crimes have shaken the residents of the city. Three people were arrested, the youngest is aged 23. They have killed a jeweler before seizing a quantity of jewelry.

- A young woman kills her grandmother who refused to give her money in Bouira
- In El Oued, a newly married killed his wife to take her jewelry and money. The latter was arrested by police in Ghelizane and acknowledged the facts.
- She poured boiling oil on her husband's second wife who was pregnant in Gumar.

- A young woman kills her grandmother for money, an angry man kills his wife, a woman kills her husband's second wife because of jealousy.
- The reasons are different but the result is the same, bereaved families, people imprisoned and a sicker society.
- What is unfortunate and disturbing at the same time is that these crimes are committed during the holy month of Ramadhan when Muslims are supposed to be more generous, humane and closer to God.
