Spain: Real Madrid humiliated by FC Barcelona (2-6)

Real Madrid defeated 6-2 Saturday by FC Barcelona in the Santiago-Bernabeu Stadium during the 34th day of Spain Championship, had already received three times as many goals at home.

  •     Real had lost 6-0 the first time against Athletic Bilbao, during the 1930-31 Championship. The people of Madrid had again ‘drunk the cup’ at home against the Basque club during the season 1946-47 (6-3).

        During the season 1950-51, it was the turn of Real’s neighbour, Atletico Madrid, scoring six goals (6-3).

        The biggest defeat of the Real in Liga remains 8-1 in Barcelona, against Espanyol (14th day of the Championship 1929-30, March 5 1930).
