And according to the site Belhadj could compensate the long absence of the French international player Eric Abidal for injury. 

Therefore, Radio ‘Catalonia’ declared that the Spanish club could bring back the ex player of Lyons toward the beginning of next January but the return of Abidal to the competition could put an end in to the negotiations. On the other hand, the football club RC Lens (Championship of France) lent the footballer Nadir Belhadj, for one season, to the English club (Portsmouth). And according to the English newspapers, Portsmouth was going to inform Lens of that during the period of the mercato on the possibility of acquisition of the contract of the Algerian player, notably after the excellent level of the former player of Sedan.
