Real Madrid: Zidane does not want money
The French football star, Zineddine Zidane, appointed Monday advisor of the Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, doesn...t not want to have money for this new job, Perez said in AS newspaper interview published Tuesday.
- “He wanted to learn, he will be with us as an ambassador of the club and he will put his experience in profit of the training centre. And he does not want money; he's the most unselfish person in the world” added Florentino Perez.
Zidane, who will be 37 in June 23, retired from sport at Real Madrid in 2006 but had never closed the door to a return to the club of Madrid.
The new president of Real qualified Monday evening on the Spanish channel TVE1 his transfer from Juventus to Real in 2001, the most expensive in history (about 75 million euros), as “very cheap”.
“There are players who cost 15 million euros and are very expensive and there are players who cost 73 million euros and are very cheap. All this is managed like a business and believe me, in this matter, I know what I'm talking about,” said Perez, chairman of the first Spanish construction group, ACS.
