Bouteflika congratulates Algerian football team for its marvellous victory

ALGIERS- President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika has sent a congratulation message "to the members of the Algerian football team and its managers following its impressive victory against its Egyptian counterpart, as part of the joint qualifiers for the 2010 football World Cup/African Cup of Nations.

• In his message, President Bouteflika said "I was very happy with your impressive victory relating to the latest match you played as part of the joint qualifiers of World Cup and African Cup of Nations.""You are a credit to our national team and the Algerian sports corporation. You made me, and your supporters, very glad," the Head of State underlined.

• "Your supporters, at home and abroad, are once again proud of you, as heroes hoisting the national flag and showing sports noble values."

• "Your achievement has been the outcome of your efforts and determination, as well as your sense of duty and responsibility and your sportsmanship," the president's message underlined, adding "these qualities have made the Algerian people really proud of you."

• "The Algerian people hope that you carry on this path" so as "you continue to be a credit to Algerian, Arab and African sport."

• President Bouteflika concluded his message to the national team and its managers saying "you deserve the warmest congratulations, and we wish" that you "will be able, with God's blessing, to make us joyful and happy again with your next achievements”.
