Cairo (Egypt) - The International Federation de Football (FIFA) will deliver on Friday its verdict about the aggression against a bus transporting Algerian team from Cairo airport to its place of residence, said a source close to the delegation in the Egyptian capital.

  • The bus carrying players of the Algerian team was attacked Thursday with stones soon after their arrival in Egypt. Four players were injured at the end of the attack: Saifi, Halliche, Lemouchia and Chaouchi. The Algerian authorities have castigated the act immediately.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mourad Medelci, present in Cairo as part of the extraordinary meeting of the Committee of the Arab peace initiative, has strongly condemned the aggression against the Algerian players and asked his Egyptian counterpart to take "the necessary measures" to ensure the safety of players and staff.

The Algerian team arrived in Cairo on Thursday to meet Saturday in Cairo stadium, his Egyptian counterpart on behalf of the 3rd and final qualifying round for the World cup 2010.
