Egyptian team bus stoned in Khartoum
Khartoum (Sudan) - The bus carrying the Egyptian team has been attacked on Monday by Algerian supporters in Khartoum, according to Al-Jazeera. The bus windows were broken, but the attack did not cause any injuries among players and coaching staff.
- The bus was attacked when the Egyptian players were returning from training at the stadium of Khartoum. The Egyptians have turned to the match commissioner to see the damage caused to their bus.
FIFA, by closing eyes on the aggression on the Greens last Thursday in Cairo, opened the door to more aggressions and violence. The governing body of the world football association bears a heavy responsibility in the events of Cairo.
The Algerian supporters have also visited their Egyptian counterparts in a hotel in the Sudanese capital.
Many Algerians are expected to arrive Tuesday in Khartoum to support the national team which will face Wednesday Egypt in a play-off match for World Cup 2010 qualification.
