Raouraoua: « I refused to shake hands with Zaher because he was responsible for the incidents of Cairo »
Algiers- The President of the Algerian Football Federation (FAF), Hadj Mohamed Raouraoua has endorsed his Egyptian counterpart, Samir Zaher, the responsibility for the coward attacks against Algerian players and supporters, before and after the match last Saturday in Cairo.
- In a statement to Radio Monte Carlo (RMC), before yesterday, he said he had refused to shake hands with Samir Zaher at the reception organized, in honor of the delegations of both countries, by Sudanese President Omar Hassan El Bashir at the presidential palace in Khartoum, for the simple reason that he considers the latter as responsible for the attacks against Algerians in Cairo.
- According to Mr Raouraoua, the irresponsibility of some Egyptian officials has encouraged supporters to try to « shake the earth under our feet ». He added « he says that these are provocations of Algerians, but he forgets that there were television cameras inside the bus, contrary to what was said the representative of the FIFA. »
- Raouraoua hopes that Zaher passes in the Disciplinary Board of the FIFA, as has been the case with the coach of Argentine, Diego Maradona few days ago. Adding that Algeria intends to submit official documents to FIFA that may lead to sanctions against Egypt.
