After the Pharaohs, we want revenge on the Germans!

Algiers- a few days before the drawing of lot of the selections qualified to World Cup 2010 to be held in South Africa, discussions are going on about the teams that should face the “Greens” in the first round of this great competition.

• Algerians, like other people in countries qualified for the World Cup 2010 in South Africa, speak only of football, the first round and the teams that will face Algeria. The majority of young people met in central Algiers; wish to see the national team play against big teams to prove their genius in the field. Many young people wish to see the Algeria in the same group with Germany.
• Mohamed, a young man of 27 from Rais Hamidou: "I would like to see the Greens face the German Greens to take revenge on the plot they made with Austria in 1982 against Algeria. Algeria has been eliminated in the first round even though it had won two matches," he said before adding, "We could have gone very far with that strong team."
  
  Fatima Zohra, met in the neighbourhood of “Place des Martyrs,” shares the same opinion. She would like the Greens redo the feat of 82 by beating the Germans to revive the joy the Algerians lived 25 years ago. Bilal says he has heard much about this famous match against the Germans and he would relive it, but this time with Antar Yahia, Ziani and Magic.
• Houssam Eddine from the “Eucalyptus” is more objective; he would like to see Algeria qualify for the second round and he would see Ziani’s teammates face Honduras, Slovenia and Ecuador to ensure qualification to the second round. Houssam would also see Algeria against Germany but in the second round.
  
  Most people we met hope to see Saâdane’s foals play against the French selection. Nassima from Bachdjarah wishes Ziani and his teammates play against the team of France, because she believes the French boast and always believe they were superior in all areas. "They should know that the Algerians are able to challenge them in all areas, and of course in sports." Hamida, met in Boulevard Mohammed V, shares the same opinion; she hopes to see Algeria beat France to show them that we are the strongest, while Nabila would like to see a match against England’s team because, she says, they have a great team. Habiba would have liked Algeria to face Egypt to give them again a lesson in education. Unfortunately, Egypt is not qualified. She added that she would like to an Algeria-Germany because she heard a lot about the famous 1982 meeting in Spain won by Algeria 2-1.
