Fifa Ranking - Egypt climbed to 10th place, Algeria 31st

PARIS - Egypt, African champions for the third consecutive time, has jumped 14 places to reach 10th place in FIFA's rankings released Wednesday, and whose first nine retain their position.

  •    The rise of the « Pharaohs », who won the African Cup on Sunday against Ghana in the finals (1-0), is the highest of the month. Cameroon, 11th in the previous rankings, dropped to the 20th place. It had been eliminated by Egypt in the quarterfinals 1-3.

  •    Undeniable best team in Africa, Egypt has not yet qualified for the World Cup-2010, losing in game support against Algeria on November 18 in Khartoum.

  •    Other African qualified to World Cup, Nigeria (15th) and Ghana (27th) have won seven seats each. South Africa, organizer of the World Cup, was not qualified for CAN.

    What do they count fifa ranking? Or which system do they use 2 count fifa ranking?

    i don't understand the criterium at which these teams are ranked but i think brazil should maintain the first spot owing to confederation cup triumph. in adition, france and portugal should not have come before England and i think u and i know very well that the road to qualification went smoothly for England and as a result, should maintain a better position than the afore mentioned.

    egypt is meant to be atleast 5th in the world we easily beat italy and we equalized with Brazil
