Zinedine Zidane received by President Bouteflika
ALGIERS - Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika received Wednesday in Algiers, former captain of France Football team, Zineddine Zidane, announced Algerian news agency APS.
- "Zizou" is in Algiers since Monday where he participated with the team of France world champion in 1998, in a tournament of the Algerian-French Friendship futsal (indoor football) against the selections of Algeria of 1982, 1986 and 1990.
This is the second time since he retired in July 2006, after the World Cup in Germany, Zidane visits the country of his parents.
The family of the star comes from the town of Bejaia, about 250 km east of Algiers. Zidane had already visited Algeria in December 2006 at the invitation of President Abdelaziz Bouteflika. He was then hailed as a hero.
