Coach Benchikha: "I swear that nobody asked me to lead the Greens"

Algiers- The coach of the national local team, Abdelhak Benchikha, has categorically denied reports in the Algerian press on his formal agreement with the President of the Algerian Football Federation (FAF), Mohamed Raouraoua, to lead the national team.

  • In a statement yesterday to Ennahar, Benchikha denied all such information. "I swear that everything that has been reported in the press is unfounded, I have not so far received any proposal to replace national coach Rabah Saadane," he told Ennahar.
  • Benchikha seemed disappointed by what has been reported in newspapers, saying that this has prevented him from going out in the street, to the market or in public places as he did before. The information on an agreement with Raouraoua to replace Saadane made people wanted to ask him about the subject.
  • Benchikha insisted in denying once again the information which he said caused him harm. This denial confirms the strategy of President of the FAF, who, in order to avoid the pressure of the street after the resignation of Saadane, has launched the name of Benchikha as the potential successor at head of the technical bar of the Greens .
