Karim Ziani unavailable for 2 to 3 months

Algerian international Karim Ziani of Wolfsburg will have to undergo hip surgery and will be sidelined for two to three months, announced Tuesday the 1st Division club.
- The midfielder, who arrived in Wolfsburg in July 2009, was troubled by pain in the groin. "The experts consulted have determined that Karim Ziani could not simply ignore a hip operation," said the German champions in 2009, on his website.
- "The period of his unavailability is a priori between two and three months," said the club controlled by the car manufacturer Volkswagen.
- Team member from Algeria who has participated in the World Cup in South Africa, Ziani, 28, has never won in Wolfsburg.
- After palying Marseille (2007-09), he has made only 13 appearances, including three this season in the Bundesliga. Before the fifth day of the Championship of Germany, Tuesday and Wednesday, Wolfsburg is 17th and penultimate with three points.
