CAF: Raouraoua elected to the executive committee of FIFA
JOHANNESBURG - President of the Algerian football federation FAF, Mohamed Raouraoua and Ivorian Jacques Anouma were elected to the executive committee of FIFA as representatives of the African Confederation (CAF) on Wednesday at its 33rd meeting in Khartoum (Sudan).
- Mohamed Raouraoua got 39 votes and Jacques Anouma 35. They beat the Seychellois Suketu Patel (12), South Africa DannyJordaan (10) and Nigeria's Ibrahim Galadima (5).
Danny Jordaan had successfully led the organization of World Cup 2010 in South Africa, but had expressed his skepticismabout his own chances: "The elections are a strange thing," he said.
