Hallilhozic satisfied after the victory against Senegal
Algiers - The coach of the Algerian football team, Bosnian Vahid Halilhodzic, noted Monday the merits of the Olympic team, who won Saturday against Senegal (1-0), in a match counting for the first day of the U-23 African championship qualifier for the London 2012 Olympics, held in Tangier and Marrakech (Morocco) from 26 November to 10 December.
- "This is an encouraging victory for the rest of the course, this will give an additional ambition to the group which should remain on this momentum," said the national coach on Radio Algeria International. Algeria has succeeded its debut in the competition by beating Senegal, with a goal scored by Mehdi Benaldjia at the 77th minute.
Vahid Halilhodzic will travel to Tanger Monday afternoon to attend the rest of the competition. "I will be in Tangier this afternoon to encourage the team, and possibly discuss with the players," he added. The Bosnian technician has already followed the Olympic team at the tournament of the North African Football Union (UNAF) held in early November in Tangier.
For the next game against Morocco scheduled on Tuesday (5:30 GMT), the coach of the "Greens" expects a difficult meeting. "Against in Morocco, it will be very difficult as it is the host country. If our players manage to win, they will be able to make a big step towards Olympic qualification, which would be wonderful" he said.
